Getting Started: An FAQ

What is Phage Wars?

At its core, Phage Wars is a simple real time strategy game. The basic mechanics revolve around using your 'virus' in an attempt to control all the territories, or cells, on a playing field. In order to do this, the player creates a virus with various strengths and weaknesses and attempts to beat an increasingly difficult field of playing arenas. In total, the game includes 32 playable levels separated into 8 phases. As a player beats these phases, gene proteins are unlocked that allow the player's virus stats to be modified in certain aspects. Among these modifiers are Agility, Defense, Strength, Reproduction and Speed.

When the game is first started, the player sees a computer Desktop, from which every part of the game can be reached:

Run Experiment: Opens up the Betz Biosystems Testing Area from which a player selects a playing arena.
Run Analysis: Allows a player to view their performance on the last played map. The page gives info on cell growth over time, as well as a comparison of both viruses stats.
Sequencer: Page that allows the player to modify the stats of their virus using various gene proteins.

The rest of the icons serve as a link to the Armor Games website, a read me about the game, and an unlocked email inbox when the game is beaten.
